Impossible not to get emotional if you’ve been in the horse latitudes for a while. It’s…all very hard for most writers and artists if they’ve been committed to their craft for more than a couple of years
Having a couple of those days myself. Why the hell am I doing this, anyway? Good to know we're not alone and even fairly successful people like Kaufman have to deal with the same old shit.
It’s easy to forget when online we see evidence of what appears to be others’ phenomenal successes. Not many people want to admit to having had harder experiences. Unless suddenly they’re successful (again or for the first time).
Thank you for this column. It makes me feel like I have two legs, at least

Thanks for this one, Christine, and all the other posts too. Words of wisdom and inspiration.
Thank you, Frank! Hope you're doing well and having a fine summer in upstate NY!
Having a lovely summer here, thanks. Lots of writing too, and a fair amount of golf and friends. I hope things are great your way!

Ah, Christine, this is beautiful and perfect and exactly what we have to remind ourselves of over and over and over again. Thank you!
Thank you, Robyn--it is so hard to keep at it on some days. Kaufman's speech came at a time when I really needed it.
