"My path to being a writer is a bit circuitous."
Fascinating conversation!
Thank you, Ted! Happy new year!
Fantastic interview. Loved what you got out of him with those questions. Now I’m excited to check out more work from the both of you
Thank you! Frank is truly a multi-talented guy, and I loved his answers too.
I'm looking forward to it, as well.
Fascinating, as I'm also a physician and a novelist.
I didn't know you were a doctor too - thanks for posting, Maureen!
I really enjoyed this interview. I love writers who come to it from unusual experiences. Here's a cool Vietnam story by a friend of mine. I think you'll like it: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2000/06/i-am-the-grass/378245/
Thank you, Barb! Btw, was just rereading the intro to NOVEL IDEAS in preparation for the Novel 1 course - looking forward to our conversation with you later this winter.
Exactly what I needed to hear today!
So pleased to see this, Tamar!
When I was in my MFA program, a visiting writer I met with said he gave all our submitted work to him to his wife to read.
I guess what I'm wondering is if you were glad or annoyed.
Annoyed
Did she critique it for him? Or did she ask to read it?
Critique it, and yes I was annoyed.
Cannot believe he admitted this!
