Greetings new and returning Bookish subscribers,
Before this month’s agent list, a few items of note:
- The Cincinnati Review is open this month for poetry and prose submissions. You’ll find the submission portal and guidelines here. (Note: submissions close early if they reach their limit before Dec. 31.)
- Ohio University Press’s Hollis Summers Poetry Prize is open for book-length submissions (60-95 pp) through December 31. This year’s final judge is Natalie Shapero. $1,000 cash prize and publication, $30 entry fee. Guidelines and link to submissions page are available here.
- Congratulations to Donna Seaman on the publication of her newest book, River of Books: A Life in Reading, and to Gioia Diliberto, on her most recent book, Firebrands: The Untold Story of Four Women Who Made and Unmade Prohibition. (Highlighted green links above will take you to their Bookshop.org pages and to an interview I did with each author.)
- A preview of November’s agent list is accessible here. Yearly and monthly subscriptions to Bookish are discounted 30% this month (the link has been fixed; my apologies about the non-functioning pathway last week). Agent lists, with few exceptions, are the only posts with a paywall.
